Role Summary:

Evolution is seeking an AI‑Native Head of Finance to architect and run the next generation of our financial function. You will design and build an agentic financial operating system that leverages AI agents, automation, and data analytics to prepare the firm for rapid scale while maintaining the rigor and integrity expected of a professional services organization.

This role goes beyond traditional controllership; you will pair hands‑on ownership of core accounting processes with strategic leadership of technology‑driven transformation. Working closely with the CEO and Platform Team, you will establish the financial infrastructure and insight engine that empowers Evolution’s mission‑driven growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Agentic Finance System Design & Implementation:

    • Architect, build, and continuously improve Evolution’s AI‑powered, agent‑driven financial operating system, integrating best‑in‑class tools for automated bookkeeping, real‑time reporting, scenario modelling, and compliance workflows.

    • Champion a culture of experimentation—rapidly prototype, test, and scale automations that replace manual processes and surface strategic insights.

    • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure data flows seamlessly between CRM, project management, payroll, and other source systems.

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy to support Evolution's mission of driving long-term, holistic success.

    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, in collaboration with leadership.

    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights into the firm’s financial health and progress towards its goals.

    • Conduct long-term financial planning and modeling to support strategic decision-making and investment strategies.

    • Proactively identify opportunities for financial improvement and efficiency.

  • Financial Operations & Accounting:

    • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.

    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting.

    • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.

    • Manage and nurture relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions.

    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:

    • Provide insightful financial analysis on business performance, trends, and variances.

    • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and investment analysis.

    • Present financial results and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.

    • Analyze profitability, cash flow, and other key financial metrics to drive informed decision-making.

  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Identify and assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements.

    • Oversee insurance and other risk management programs.

  • Contracting:

    • Managing client contracting process

    • Reviewing client contract change requests

    • Legal contract review


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies for professional service-based companies

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management principles.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to financial integrity. 


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 annually plus equity
