Inside Evolution: Climate Neutral Re-Certification!
Today we’re celebrating our Climate Neutral Re-Certification!
At Evolution, we believe business is a force for good and has become the primary vehicle for change in the world. When rooted in sustainability, business becomes a powerful force for positive transformation. We hold a steadfast belief that the essence of sustainable change in the world emanates from businesses embracing their deepest values. Through this work, a leader, a team, and a business can live in alignment with a purpose that transcends mere profit, optimizing their potential to shape a future that benefits both humanity and our planet.
Becoming Climate Neutral Certified was a months-long effort to measure, reduce, and compensate for our brand’s carbon footprint. While we are a primarily virtual company, we are not content to say, 'we think we have a pretty small carbon footprint.’ We want to take responsibility for our direct & indirect emissions and truly understand our impact on the world. These are actions that all companies—and individuals—can and must take now to “flatten the curve” of carbon emissions.
We’re thrilled to join hundreds of Climate Neutral Certified brands in taking meaningful climate action today.
How did we get here?
We collaborated with the Climate Neutral team to measure our brand’s total 2022 carbon footprint, set time-bound Reduction Action Plans, and compensate for our annual emissions by investing in carbon offset projects that met Climate Neutral’s rigorous standard.
Certifying brands collectively dedicated thousands of hours to understanding and addressing their climate impacts during the certification process.
Each organization spent every hour working to achieve the same uniform standard. This included:
Measure
We measured our 2022 carbon footprint at 43 tonnes. To arrive at this number, we looked at all the brand-level emissions created from making and delivering our services, including company-branded merchandise, employee commuting, business travel, and utility bills.
Reduce
We then identified emissions hotspots and created time-bound Reduction Action Plans to lower our emissions over the next 12-24 months.
Business travel: We plan to reduce emissions from single meeting/event travel by promoting carpooling, limiting air travel when possible, and minimizing in-person meetings.
Operational waste: We plan to reduce emissions from purchasing goods such as office supplies & swag by purchasing from locally sourced, organic, and sustainable vendors.
Compensate
Finally, we offset these annual emissions by investing in $516.00 verified carbon credits that met Climate Neutral’s rigorous Standard. These carbon credits supported a portfolio of projects that will help reduce fossil fuel dependency, avoid deforestation, and capture methane gas from landfills.

What does it mean to be Climate Neutral Certified?
Being an Evolutionary Business means acknowledging the interrelationship of all things and having a commitment to being of service to all stakeholders. These circles of stakeholders can include employees, the business' specific industry, local communities in which they operate, groups that have been traditionally marginalized, and the planet itself.
This label represents the trusted, independent Standard for climate neutrality and empowers consumers to find brands leading on immediate climate action.
“Consumers hold incredible power to shape the economy, and their power is exerted through the actions of the brands they support,” said Austin Whitman, CEO of Climate Neutral. “With our climate label, we’re helping consumers find companies that are taking action today and immediately investing in climate solutions.”
All companies that get certified must reduce and compensate for their emissions from making and delivering products and services. Next time you’re considering a new product or service, keep an eye out for the Climate Neutral Certified label.
